Our Story

Five Generations of Farmers

The founder of Rimini Farms, Mike Rozman, is a fifth-generation farmer.  His father was a farmer, as was his grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. From a very young age he has had his hands and his heart in the soil. Born in Israel, Rozman is the son of Polish farmers.  After World War II, those in his family who survived the concentration camps in the Holocaust moved from Poland to Israel.

As a teenager Rozman left school behind to help support his parents and two sisters as an hands-on apprentice. This allowed Mike the opportunity to learn about the soil, the seeds and the conditions of farming first-hand. He soon discovered which crops would yield the most product and thrive. Growing a quality product was only the beginning of the process, as Rozman observed the standard distribution process and began to formulate practical steps to preserve the quality of produce through a more streamlined process.

Rebuilding the Family Legacy

Rozman’s father turned the family’s farming business over to Rozman’s uncle, and the family moved from Israel to the U.S. Starting again from scratch, it was Mike’s turn to build upon his family’s legacy. Beginning with just one horse and a truck, he soon grew the business and expanded from farming and growing crops to the exporting and distribution business.

Rimini Farms was Created

Mid-year Rozman sold his original business and continued to pursue his interest in produce. Soon, Mike was farming again and began growing crops in the Dominican Republic. As a result, Rimini Farms was born! With his daughter by his side, they work collectively to oversee the farms and growers, while mastering the logistics to export products to the U.S.
